It isn't that I am anti-journal…I mean I write a web log! But that is just information technology. I write a blog.
2d class boys aren't periodical-prolific .
Reid'southward prolific nature is more full-bodied on Lego-building, DS playing and general tactics of brotherly state of war.
*sigh*
It isn't then bad when the assigned journal entry revolves effectually something that Reid has seen or done. It is the life application entries that may impale me earlier the yr is over.
Yes, I said me.
Reid, like most second course boys, is pretty concrete in his thinking unless he is daydreaming. Drawing a life lesson from annihilation is a full diddled struggle, let solitary writing it in a complete sentence with a capital letter letter, end marking and no reversal of b'southward and d'south.
So, what I have been doing is to have a conversation with him about whatever story we are suppose to be translating into periodical gold. I take a judgement or two from our discussion and write it out for him to copy and then he draws a picture show. Often the life application is a trivial abstract and volition fall on the grace of a certain 2nd grade instructor.
That all inverse last Thursday. I read the story of Samson to Reid.
Samson was strong, simply non and so smart. He let the secret of his strength skid to his heathen married woman who took this information and used information technology for evil.
I asked Reid (halfheartedly) what he learned from this story that he could apply to his own life. He replied without hesitation…
