I Say Again That Im Not a Racist
False accusations and personal attacks in Hampton election
To the Editor:
Every bit a candidate for re-election to local office here in Hampton, I experience it incumbent upon myself to be completely honest and informative for the brave Hampton voters this upcoming March.

With that said, let me fill you in on the try to publicize several unsubstantiated claims that take been used as an try to disqualify myself as a competent public servant and smear my reputation. I am about positive this aforementioned effort volition be resurfacing once more soon, equally the town election engagement approaches.
Dorsum in September 2020, the Seacoast Chapter Director of Black Lives Matter was calling for my resignation as a selectman because of the erroneous claims supported by some locals labeling me as a racist. The chairman and rest of the lath of selectmen were allowing this slander during public comment at the selectmen meetings. All these claims were unsubstantiated and stemmed by and large from memes that I had shared on my ain, personal social media pages.
Town election 2022:Hampton selectman race pits incumbent Regina Barnes vs. Amy Hansen
I estimate maybe it started with my run for state Senate in 2020. However, the slander and smear campaign did not offset until afterward I lost the 2022 primary. Then that makes me believe that it is non just partisan politics but also the local cabal, who seem to be running the boondocks. The entire effort seems to exist convoluted.
Forty-four years accept gone by and upwardly until last twelvemonth, I have never been labeled as a racist. For those of yous with concerns, I urge y'all to reach out and speak with me directly.
I am not a racist.

Support Hampton local election officials
To the Editor:
Warrant Articles 39 and xl both mandate that "All voting shall be by paper ballot and all ballots shall be hand-counted just." They are both unnecessary, impractical and -quite frankly – dangerous. I urge every registered voter in Hampton (Democrat, Republican and Contained) to come up out on March 8 and vote no on Manufactures 39 and xl.
Having a debate near the critical issues facing our boondocks, our state and our nation is an important part of our democracy and nosotros should continue to have them; as robustly every bit possible.
Changing how we count our votes is not one of those critical issues.
Articles 39 and xl are unnecessary because all voting in Hampton is already done by paper election. The machines used to count the votes are just used to count the votes cast. They are not connected to the cyberspace and in that location is no take a chance they might be hacked. They are serviced regularly by a New Hampshire-based company (LHS Associates). The public is invited to find our town moderator every bit he tests the machines prior to every ballot. Our town moderator and town clerk have well-established procedures that rail the movements and human interactions with the election counter and memory cards each election. At that place is no evidence that the counting machines have prevented whatever Hampton resident's vote from existence properly counted. If there are whatever doubts about the results of an election, a hand recount of paper ballots may be requested. In fact, in ane sample of 37 races for land representatives totaling 150 seats in 2016, 2022 and 2022 where a mitt recount was requested, the success rate for the optical scanners was over 99%. Very few changes made whatsoever difference; recounts changed the winners in but 5 of the 150 seats over the grade of those three ballot cycles.
These articles are impractical because mitt-counting all ballots will crave at to the lowest degree 100 volunteers, who must – by law – work through the night until the count is completed. Paw counting the ballots volition too mean we can likely no longer hold our elections at whatever of the public schools in town and at that place are no feasible alternatives elsewhere in town.
And these articles are unsafe because hand-counting will cost our boondocks more money. They will result in election results being delayed, possibly for several days. And because mitt counting is less accurate than auto counting because of human being error information technology will create more uncertainty in our ballot process that does non now exist.
We should all take confidence in our local election officials and the processes they have implemented and our property revenue enhancement dollars are too valuable to spend them on something that is entirely unnecessary.
I urge all voters in Hampton to bring together with me on March viii to keep election counting machines in Hampton and support our local election official past voting no on warrant Articles 39 and xl.

Amy Hansen will put Hampton first
To the Editor:
Hampton needs responsible, competent, and level-headed leaders, now more than than ever! That's why I'1000 writing to urge my neighbors to vote for Amy Hansen for Select Board. Amy is a leader we tin trust to put the needs of our community start, rather than getting bogged down in the chaos and polarization of national politics.
![Amy Hansen](https://www.gannett-cdn.com/presto/2021/11/22/NPOH/32e7b3b0-6b49-48d0-9ed7-cc778ff8bd98-Amy_Hansen.jpg?width=660&height=594&fit=crop&format=pjpg&auto=webp)
Over the last decade, Amy has proven that she is determined to brand a positive impact in our community, and she is fiercely committed to ensuring that our children have the all-time possible grooming for success. She has volunteered for the Hampton PTA, the Hampton Town Clock Project Committee, and she is an active member of the Hampton University Renovation and Construction Team. In recognition of her tireless advancement on behalf of the children in our community, she was awarded the 2022 Champion for Children laurels from the Southeast NH Superintendent Association.
Amy also knows that our town draws its strength from its unique and inspiring history as the birthplace of public education in North.H. She serves on both the Friends of Winnacunnet Foundation and on the Board of Trustees of the Hampton Historical Society. She volition piece of work tirelessly on the Select Lath to ensure that we e'er put the needs of Hampton residents showtime, especially our children.
Amy knows that beingness elected to the boondocks Select Board is an invitation to serve our customs, not a license to drag the states into bitter lose-lose fights and petty score-settling. We can trust Amy to accolade our history and program for a bright and vibrant futurity for anybody in Hampton.

Hampton: Vote yeah on Commodity 8 (Interstate Corridor Overlay District)
To the Editor:
The land-owned land adjacent to Route 95 is in the General District and the state is not held to local ordinances because of its sovereign power which means they can build whatsoever they make up one's mind is for the rubber and in this case convenience of the traveling public.
The New Hampshire Liquor Commission plans to upgrade its Road 95 facilities and the country looks to sell their surrounding land to a programmer to host facilities similar to those on Route 93 in Hooksett. They have come earlier our Planning Board to work cooperatively on this project. This volition require passing the Overlay District as designed and restricted by the Hampton Planning Board.
![The New Hampshire Liquor Commission is looking to sell and redevelop 88 acres of prime real estate prominently situated along Interstate 95 in Hampton.](https://www.gannett-cdn.com/presto/2021/12/16/NPOH/87776cfe-a1e4-46ae-b4de-98718680bb50-liquor.land.jpg?width=660&height=436&fit=crop&format=pjpg&auto=webp)
If Article 8 passes, information technology will allow the country to sell the land to a programmer to provide bathrooms, canis familiaris walks, gasoline and electric charging stations, snack and food availability – all of which is spelled out in Article eight.
What does Hampton have to proceeds or lose? The overlay allows the state to be able to sell the land to a private programmer. Which means the developer is then the property owner and will accept to laissez passer the site review process of our Planning Board that could crave the programmer to do many things such as; building and maintaining an access road for workers and emergency vehicles, a sewer charge, exaction fees, waste disposal removal and probably other things that I'1000 not familiar with in the planning process.
More:Hampton voters to become say on I-95 development with liquor stores, more. State disappointed in what is left out.
This holding would so become taxable that ways non only will Hampton Planning Board have a voice in what is built out there, just at that place will be yearly revenue to Hampton from taxable property. Passing this article is a win/win for the town. This is our opportunity and the but chance to have a vocalism in the process.
Delight join me and others to pass this commodity for the benefit of our community.
Vote aye on Commodity viii.

Regina Barnes is not an anti-racist
To the Editor:
Last week, Regina Barnes stated that she wasn't racist. None of the states expect her to evidence upwards to the next Hampton meeting adorning a swastika badge and declaring her fidelity to the KKK. What she fails to empathize is that there is a difference between not beingness a racist and actively being an anti-racist.
Did she ever take unconscious bias training? Does she work in a identify that practices gender and diversity initiatives? Does she actively seek out and welcome people of different abilities, backgrounds, nationalities, and genders? If someone is triggered by her actions, would she listen to sympathize?
History suggests that pirate ships were more diverse than modern bodies of government. Perhaps Blackbeard didn't think he was a racist either. Notwithstanding, he too didn't care who he hurt to get what he wanted and for years, Ms. Barnes has done the same. She has been earning followers through offensive social media posts targeting Jews, Blacks, Islam and the trans community. Barnes stated that claims of her racism are unsubstantiated. Go wait online to see proof of her suggesting that certain types of people need to be "taken out," telephone call certain political figures a "ho," equate mask-wearing during COVID to the Holocaust, and use the word "hate" in reference to people who support minorities. It is a lazy and shameful way to build a base.
If only now realizing that she was elected as a passive pawn, I'd be aroused likewise. She has been screaming about private interests interfering with town politics and the state taking advantage, just null has changed for the better during her time in office. Voter turnout and political participation are as depression equally ever, and now ballot machines might exist removed and replaced with 100 volunteers who we don't take, taking days to hand count our futurity elections with more than chance for mistake because of her sponsored warrant article.
The Rational Taxpayers of Hampton, aka Xanthous Sheet, have voted anonymously to support her re-election campaign fifty-fifty though I reached out and made their spokesperson Norman Silberdick fully aware of her antisemitic, racist, xenophobic, transphobic, and Islamophobic sentiment. They think her proverb "I am non a racist" is plenty and volition continue to solicit coin from Hampton residents.
If you recall you are not a racist, join me as I invite Ms. Barnes to participate in any one of the following local events. Not being a racist means cultivating an open mind through actions.
·Temple Beth Jacob Sisterhood Meeting
·Check out a book from the ISSA Library
·Tour of the We the People Fine art Event at SAACC
· UNH Gender Equality in the 21st Century Lecture

'No evidence':Hampton selectmen decline petitions that cast dubiousness on voting machines
Let's ensure accurate elections in Hampton
To the Editor:
The paper ballots nosotros utilise in Hampton need to be counted by manus, non outdated machines. Vote yes on warrant Articles 39 and forty to ensure accurate hand counting of paper ballots.
Voting machines were intended to be temporary, not permanent in Hampton. Currently, machines with outdated software are being used.
Machines have proven to exist inaccurate creating uncertainty. Virtually recently Windham N.H., a boondocks the size of Hampton, had an almost 400 cyberspace vote discrepancy in 2020.
The public may be invited to view the town moderator inspecting voting machines, but how many voters are told or know when and where this occurs?
How nosotros count votes is critical. Authentic vote counting is the foundation of how we are governed, who does the governing, and the direction our lives, customs and nation take.
Hand counting costs less money to the taxpayer because volunteers will count the votes. Machines crave large acquisition and maintenance costs.
Yes, hand counting could cause delays. Why does that matter? Knowing the outcome a twenty-four hour period or two after election day isn't every bit important every bit guaranteeing fair, accurate, and valid results.
Access to voting will exist more inclusive. Adding elections venues get in easier for more voters to vote.
Information technology is skilful to have conviction in local election officials and the procedure they promote. This doesn't mean voters must follow blindly without questioning and changing the process to a more accurate one.
Warrant Articles 39 and forty will provide a better, less costly, more inclusive, and more accurate method of vote counting. Vote yep on both manufactures at the Hampton Boondocks Meeting on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
Thank you,
Dolores Souto Messner

Nichole Duggan for Hampton Zoning Board
To the Editor:
On March 8, I will be voting for Nichole Duggan for Hampton Zoning Lath.
In many ways, the Zoning Board is the guardian of the kind of community we want to live in. It is responsible for interpreting the zoning ordinances set and agreed to by the residents of our town in our boondocks meeting.
Information technology ensures that the ordinances are practical fairly and consistently and determines how they use when individuals request a variance, regardless of who may submit the request.
It is important that the Zoning Board is comprised of members who will be fair and unbiased and also correspond a cross-section of our community.
Nichole is just who nosotros need. She is a year-circular beach resident with two young children who has worked in the existent estate and mortgage industries.
She will be fair and unbiased in how we apply our zoning ordinances, and then that anybody who chooses to invest in our community- either by purchasing a home or locating a business here- volition receive a fair hearing and a off-white opportunity to do and then. Delight bring together me in voting for Nichole Duggan for Hampton Zoning Board.

Why vote-counting machines in Hampton need to go
To the Editor:
In my view, hither is the number 1 reason to vote "yes" on Hampton warrant Articles 39 and xl, which both petition to return to hand counting of ballots for all elections held in Hampton.
At that place is only one "law of the land," and it is the Due north.H. constitution. Over time, bipartisan efforts accept created legislative statutes that were never authorized by the citizens of N.H., state voting laws are just ane example.
Let the states look at Commodity 11 of the N.H. Bill of Rights: Elections and Elective Franchises. At that place has not been a constitutional amendment to Article eleven, since 1984 on state elections laws. The land Legislature does non have the authority to amend the constitution without first request we the people of Due north.H.
Many of our electric current state voting laws, adoption of RSA 656:40 included, violate the state constitution and should be repealed immediately.
RSA 656:forty which immune the Hampton Board of Selectmen to adopt machines on a trial basis is repugnant to the N.H. constitution. This act was never authorized past nosotros the citizens of N.H. This deed altered how the town of Hampton counts and records votes. The adoption of election counting devices in Hampton currently goes against or is repugnant to the state constitution.
Hampton and its citizens should "vote yep" on Articles 39 and xl on March 8. "Vote yeah" for election integrity. "Vote yes" for Hampton sovereignty.

Sharon Mullen for Hampton Planning Board
To the Editor:
On March 8, I will be voting for Sharon Mullen for Hampton Planning Board.
After living in Hampton and serving on the Hampton Heritage Commission and Seacoast Families First, Sharon left our town only to return because she realized that this is where she wants to live and continue to grow her business equally an energy consultant focusing on clean, efficient, and affordable energy.
Sharon likewise wants to continue serving the public and giving something back to our community. As a member of the Planning Lath, she will be guided by the town's Main Program and the vision of our customs it represents. She will non ignore the impacts of sea-level rise and climate change and will ensure that the need for resilient infrastructure is reflected in our planning process.
As an contained businesswoman, she volition be a voice on the Planning Lath in back up of businesses who want to locate or grow here to help create a more than livable community for all Hampton residents. She will be guided by the certainty that nada is abiding but modify and the overarching demand to be fiscally responsible to electric current and futurity residents and taxpayers of our town.
Vote for Sharon Mullen for Planning Board on March eight.
